Casting Opportunity
Mark Albiston, a New Zealand film director will be here on Wednesday and is working with some selected schools as he casts for his upcoming feature film.  He's going to work with all of our male students, initially just engaging in a theatre sports game, and from there he will select up to 10 students to do some workshopping with that afternoon. One of our staff will be present during the casting. Obviously if he wanted to progress an audition further with any of our students that would happen through parents and caregivers.

If you would not like your child to attend the initial casting opportunity please let us know before Wednesday morning, by emailing office@dni.school.nz

Community Notices:

The 2025 NZ International Science Festival programme has 90+ events these coming school holidays – and most of them are free!  We're especially excited to be hosting Dr Michelle Thaller, recently retired Deputy Director of Science Communication at NASA, for several events including an 'Ask Me Anything' session for all our young people on Sunday 29 June.

Whether you’re into gaming, quantum physics, technology, conservation, books, talks, learning through play, theatre or comedy, there’s something for everyone, no matter your age or interests.

The Festival Hub schedule is packed with hands-on fun and interesting science as well as daily seminars, workshops, and of course our Imagination Playground for the wee ones.

Teachers and Parents - there's plenty of adult focused events on too, so don't miss looking through the programme yourself too!
