Dunedin North Intermediate year 8 Boys astound at the NZAIMS GAMES:
The DNI A Miniball team challenged itself entering the New Zealand Association of Intermediate and Middle Schools AIMS GAMES in Tauranga. The team had a magnificent result finishing third, losing only to the winner, Hastings Intermdiate. This is the highest result ever achieved by a south island school in this tournament and probably the best result by a Dunedin based basketball side in recent time.
Dunedin North Intermediate Miniball teams dominate the year 7 and 8 competitions.
Miniball and Basketball season ended this week with the amazing result of DNI winning three of the four grades. The Year 8 girls completed their season with a further win over Tahuna, leaving the DNI 1 team the outright competition winners. The DNI C team completed a successful season with a clear win over Tahuna to win the year 7 boys grade. DNI A completed their season by winning both the year 8 boys grade by defeating John McGlashan and defeating the Otago Boys team to win the year 9, grade division 2.

- Extra! Magazine Spelling Quiz
Last Wednesday the Dunedin section of the Otago Daily Times Extra Spelling Quiz was held at Tahuna Normal Intermediate. We had four teams of three entered in this competition which involved a variety of activities including spelling words, dictionary skills, proof reading, abbreviations and word derivation. All four teams did very well but we are very happy to report that one of our teams carried off first place, a significant achievement in a competition of 68 teams. The team of Matthew Scadden , Sean Stenhouse and Blake Mcalevey-Scurr scored a total of 97 points out of a possible 100 and the organiser informed me that this was the highest score recorded at any of the events so far. The boys received a medal and a plaque which we will be very proud to display in our foyer. Congratulations to these three boys and also to the other nine competitors , Emily Beattie, Ashleigh Wheeler, Hannah Dillingham, Khodesh Temiti, Abraham Addis, Jack Ferguson, Olivia Fusco, Nik Evington and Roynuku Nukanuka who represented our school so well.
